A birthday and a baptism!

My birthday was ok we had French breakfast puff things, you know the muffins with sugar on them :) Then I opened you presents which I loved everything and tell Stef thanks too :)
Thanks for giving me the shirt even though you really liked it.  The next birthday that I have will be better though with you guys. It was weird to have no family there. Sister Miller is from Wenatchee Washington. Anyways onto the week! Oh btw it was 3 hours not 6 on the train. I lied to you whoops.
Tuesday we went to this lady named Margaret, she is an investigator and this is the second time the missionaries have met with her in a long time. She is Nigerian so I was excited to meet her. We get there and she forgot about the appointment but that is normal for Africans. But we taught a lesson anyways and it was kind of hard because her kid was running around the whole time and she couldn´t really focus. She doesn’t believe that anyone can see God because he is just a spirit....So that is an issue haha. Good thing is she is really nice next time we meet with her I think the kid should go down for a nap or something haha. After Margaret we met with this lady named Angelika she is (well got) baptized this Saturday. It was cool meeting with her because I am still new in this area and she treated me like I have been there forever and that was super nice. We just made sure she is reading her scriptures every day and asked if she had any questions about her baptism. It was a good lesson she is super cute.
Wednesday we had District meeting and that was really good. Everyone that talked said like the perfect things it was really cool and it was a little different. It is the smallest one I have ever been too. After then we went with the Elders to the Skopek's for lunch. They live pretty far away but it was cool because it is prettier the farther away you get from the city. They were super cute they made us rotkohl and potatoes and some meat, a typical German meal...good thing I like it haha. Then we were all stuffed and they put us in this warm room to give the spiritual thought haha we were all soo sleepy but we pushed through haha. After the Skope’s we did some planning then went to our weekly ward night. We were in charge this week and we were going to carve pumpkins but we ended up not having enough time because we made pumpkin soup too. So now Sister Miller and I have 3 pumpkins. Good thing we both like to cook haha.

Thursday we woke up and had a special breakfast for my birthday and then I opened my package from my family and loved everything in it :) Love my family! Then we went to this member’s house and cleaned for 3 hours then we ate lunch with them. It was actually pretty fun and it was good to get to know them better. Then we went to Herne to go on splits with their ward council which was cool. We went out with this one lady to this less active that turned out to be pretty nice but she was just mad at the bishop for not calling her when she was in the hospital. The member reminded her that not everyone is perfect.

Friday we went over to Sister Kretzmann´s house for lunch with the elders and she was super nice and cute. She got me flowers and a card for my birthday! This is a lady I have seen 3 times! That was super nice! But she did feed us this thing calls fricadella or something like that and those are not that good. After that we did planning and then made my cheesecake and ate at this place called Banana leaf which you actually eat off a banana leaf! The actual food wasn´t that good though. Then the cheesecake didn´t turn out quite right either, it wasn´t bad just not the same. Then we had English class that night and that was cool. This family was there that was super nice so I am looking forward to doing that every week.

Her favorite birthday dessert. Pumpkin chocolate chip cheesecake.

Saturday we played soccer which I think was a waste of time because no investigators or members were there! Just missionaries! Sister Miller agrees with me so I don´t know what will happen next week. After soccer we went home and did weekly planning while cutting up some pumpkins. Then we went to Angelika´s baptism and that was great she looked so happy and right after we had a fireside that we put together. 11 people showed up and I think it went pretty well.

Sunday we went to church and I finally got to see the last session of general conference but it was in German so I could understand it but not fully grasp it so I will just have to see them some other way. After church we went home and made some pumpkin soup that turned out to be really good. Then we went to the Roslers because it was Helen’s birthday. I gave her some of my cheesecake and we made her a card and us and the Elders sang happy birthday to her she seemed pretty happy :) After that is was pouring down rain so of course it was the day we were going to do go byes haha. So there we were soaking wet haha and no one was even home! Oh well it was fun. After that we went home and enjoyed our p day eve by making apple crisp :)

That was my week hope everyone else had a good one too! Love you all and I am so glad I am a member of this church I have had so many blessings because of the knowledge I have.

Transfer to Essen

Ok first to answer your questions I rode a Train there but not by myself I was in a drit(trio) though and it was one train for like an hour and then another for like 6 hours! AHHHHH soo long but super super super pretty! Sister miller.2 is awesome she is super nice and we are getting along really well she is 21 she has 2 sisters and a brother she is from WASHINGTON! So automatically cool. She likes running woot! She is way better than me because she has ran marathons and such. She studied at BYU-I before she left and health science and she is spring fall track so we will have on Semester together. She has been out one more transfer than me ( like all my comps besides Tuschling ) and she has been in Essen her whole Mission! But now the week:

Monday for my last p day we played Soccer with our district and then we went to Family home evening for the young single adults and we really went to use our hour of Computer to see some more of General conference but then towards the end this guy that we talked to 2 weeks ago showed up at family home evening, cool huh? He is so ready. He would already be a member if it wasn´t for his wife. He can Quote scriptures from the Book of Mormon and he knows the stories and everything and he has a testimony of everything it is just his wife is against the church and it is so sad :( But he told us he wants to share the gospel with people at his work. So he wants to get the Book of Mormon in their native language and give it to them as a present for Christmas! So cool!

Tuesday we did a lot of moving of furniture to get the apartment ready for the new sisters coming in. And then we met up with this girl from another ward that wanted to spend the day with us. So first we went to see Renante Best and we talked to her about Family history and that went ok. I think she is keeping secrets from us though. After that we went to Marli and we get in and she tells us her husband said we can´t meet with her anymore but she really likes us and the church. She says she will keep reading the Book of Mormon and she has been sharing the Gospel with her friends and if one of them wants to meet with us maybe she could come. Also she said if we started a program to stop smoking she could probably come to that. So I am sure we will meet with her again, well Sister Miller will meet with her again. It was really cool when we left we each said a prayer for her and the Spirit was really strong. I cried after that appointment. I will miss her for sure. After that we met up with Herr Kessler and did some Family history work and he liked that a lot.
Time to move furniture so that there can be four Sisters in the apartment.

Wednesday we went out to Bickenbach to meet with Senel and Ali (The bakery People) and they were all sick so we couldn´t meet with them but we set up another appointment. That is good. After that fell through we stopped by on the Whittaker Family and they were super nice and it was cool to feel the Spirit there too. Then we visited a member, Sister Tak and she is going through a rough time and it was really good to help her. Once we left she said she felt lighter. Then that night we played soccer with our ward and with a couple nonmembers. Then I finished packing.

Bickenbach

Thursday the big day! So we went to Hauptbahnhof in Frankfurt and when I got there I found out I was going to be going around with the Frankfurt German speaking Sisters till four. My new companion was not coming to Frankfurt that I was Meeting her in Essen which was a surprise. Other than those facts I knew nothing haha. So I went out with the Frankfurt Sisters and it was cool to see all the familiar places. We taught a lesson and the Lady was super nice and then we headed back to Hauptbahnhof and I found out I would be in a drit (trio) and would be riding trains forever! Good thing elders were with us because loading and unloading all the luggage was tough! So the train ride for the first train was like an hour then the second train was 6 hours. It was a long day haha. Especially since I had nothing to eat except a sandwich the whole day and thanks to my new district leader some candy haha. The train ride wasn´t that bad. I spent it getting to know my new district and some of my Zone. The view was BEAUTIFUL hills of trees in all different colors, lakes, rivers, castles and cathedrals sooo pretty! Then I finally got to meet Sister Miller .2 and she was very nice but all we had time to do was go home and sleep haha.

Transfer Day

Friday was Zone Training which was nice to meet my Zone Sister Leonardson (my MTC comp) is in my Zone and also Elder Watherböhr. So at least I knew some people and others I kind of met and then the train People. Zone training was good though. We even got to break a board of wood in half with our bare hands. That is right! After that we went straight to the baptism of Sister Braun, a lady Sister Miller has been teaching forever, and that was really cool. I got to meet the Bishop and he is super nice and also our ward Mission leader who seems cool. The baptism was great. I liked hearing the members bare their testimonies. That was probably my favorite part.

Saturday I went to the Temple with the ward! That was a 2 hour drive and yet another BEAUTIFUL drive! I can´t believe how lucky I am with getting to go to the temple. I have done it with every companion except Sister Miller 1. After the temple I went to another baptism but this one wasn´t ours but there were 2 girls there that were referrals for us. So we met them and talked like forever and now we have their numbers and I am pretty sure we will meet with them again.

Sunday was wonderful we taught the Primary which was 4 children including a nonmember little boy! Crazy huh! Then I was able to say my testimony in sacrament meeting! So that was great. After we went with the Elders to give Sister Heerhorst a blessing and she gave us lunch. She was super nice and kind and funny haha. After that we did a little weekly planning and then went to our former ward mission leader’s house for dinner (he was released that Sunday) That was really cool. He was super nice when we came in he played Georgia on my minds by Michel Buble for me haha.

So a pretty AWESOME week I would say. It is so cool that Heavenly Father knows exactly where we need to be and at what time and with who. This is something I have gained a strong testimony of being out on my Mission. I am excited to work here in Essen with Sister Miller!

Hope everyone’s week goes well love you all
