District Meeting and a Split

My Foot is no longer swollen and doesn´t hurt that much anymore this week I get my specially made inserts which is good because my drugs will be gone soon.

Monday night we met with Jessie and Brian and that was good another secret ward mission leader meeting and we got some flyers made for our volleyball night :)

Tuesday we met with Lindsey Cross which was awesome she is American and she made us chili and corn bread!!! I missed that so much! It was so good! She is going to have her baby on the 7th of May so we helped her build furniture and left her with a spiritual thought. It was really good she is so nice! Then we were supposed to meet with Jenifer but she forgot about us and couldn´t meet.

Wednesday we had our first district meeting in Kahrlsruhe and it was good. It just takes like an hour to get there and 30 mins more when your first train is late and you miss your connection by a minute! But there is a good Bakeri so no worries. I really like this district they are all sweet people. After District meeting we got to go to the Onigket”s for lunch and that was fun she only had 3 of her kids there this time which made it a lot more calm haha. After that I went to Darmstadt for a split with Sister Hull. It was so weird being back in one of my old areas remembering things and seeing how things have changed. We met with this less active lady that was super nice and then we just went home and ate dinner. I called Marli because they haven´t been able to meet with her and once I told her it was me she made out an appointment! Pretty sweet huh wish I could come back for the appointment and see her.

Thursday I got to meet with Lin, who I met like 2 times but she didn´t remember me but it is cool to see how much progress she had made she is on her way to baptism and now she has her baby and he is CUTE! Then we met with this other less active family that was super nice. Then we met with Ornella which is an investigator who is also close to baptism. Then I went back to Heidelberg. On the way home I heard these people speaking a language I didn´t know so I just thought it was Spanish and told Sister Teepels to talk with them. But all of them got off except for one and Sister Teeples talked with her...she was speaking Greek but she also spoke English hehe. We told her who we were and what we do and asked if she would like to meet with us she said YES and that she would bring all of her friends.....SWEET! She can´t meet with us this coming week because of school but the week after she really wants to meet with us!! I am very positive about this girl :)

Friday we did a split with our young women. I went out with Anna Schiffmann and I love this girl so much haha we even had matching outfits! It was fun we visited Cynthia and went to a street display and then she came with us to a Spanish member appointment. She can speak so many languages. But guess what I said the opening prayer in Spanish told you I was learning and I understood a tiny tiny bit haha.

Saturday we had were supposed to meet with Louisa a Spanish lady but she fell out so then we printed out flyers and then we were going to do weekly planning but a member called us and was crying so we went to her and she is going through a lot and just wanted us to be with her. We got her calm and happier and she took us out to dinner to this really nice place, she spoiled us big time, it made me feel bad. But we made her happier I guess.

Sunday was ward conference so only 2 hours and then a lunch. All together it was cool so many people were at church! After that the same member as yesterday wanted to spend more time with us so we went by on this member she knew that we hadn´t seen for a while and it turned out to be really good. Then we went home and did weekly planning.

It was a good week and this coming week is transfer calls! Crazy huh! Well love you all

Can you find the Book of Mormon?

Monday, April 21, 2014

She had ran away from the hospital.....so we found her and made her go back...Missionary life haha.

Ok to start off the church will reimburse the foot doctor so don´t worry about that. I was freaking out because I didn´t know I was going to have and appointment that week so I couldn´t warn you guys. SO ya my foot was swollen for like 2 months and had pain. They gave me some drugs and are making me get special inserts that the church pays for but they also say I need to get way better shoes that I have to pay for. Oh guess what! I got your package and Kayla´s!!! Happy day! Thanks for everything. That shirt will be super nice because it is so light the tights I probably won’t wear till I come home haha too warm. The place I am living is really beautiful and yes there is a place to walk by the river and there are river boats and tons of people in row boats. It has been warm here. Apparently Heidelberg is the warmest place in Germany...lucky me... That is funny about your book haha I can´t wait to read normal books! I got pride and prejudice in German! Hey you should read the fairy tale book that I sent home to help you with your German or Preach my Gospel they have more normal words. Or you can order the picture book for the book of Mormon in German. I want to get that when I get home anyway it is very simple. That is cool that Derek is going to New Hampshire Manchester mission. And the Bradham boys are going to South America. Everyone in our ward is going to know Spanish except for me. I will be the weirdo that knows German haha. Good thing Sister Teeples is helping me learn Spanish haha. Thanks for all the pictures! Loved them all! That is crazy that it was only a year ago that we were in Disney world!! Ok on to the week!!!!!

Monday night we met with this Less active named Sister Kroi and she was super nice and says she wishes she could come to church but because she works on every Sunday she can´t and when I just suggested that she should could look for a new job believing that God would help her find a new job because it is for a righteous desire she just shot me down saying that is not how it works in Germany it is really hard to find a job here.... So that was fun haha.

Tuesday we had District meeting and that was good finally got to meet my District haha. Then we met with this lady named Cynthia which is an investigator she was just super sad because her boyfriend left her and wasn´t really ready to hear  us so hopefully next time it will go better. Then we met with Danelle which is a newly reactivated member and her husband isn´t a member. At first I was scared for this appointment because she seemed really quiet but it turned out great they are super nice and I am excited to meet with them again :)

Wednesday I went to the doctor because I have been having foot problems and it took 3 hours one of which I was getting and MRI they didn´t tell me how long it would take so I was just lying still uncomfortably thinking get me out of this PLACE!! I wish I could have been doing something in that hour. Well in the end they told me my foot was swollen because it was inflamed because of my shoes aren´t good enough and I walk too much... SO I got some drugs and have to get specially made inserts and new shoes or else the doctor said my foot would never not be swollen or stop hurting....great. After that adventure we ate lunch at a member’s house and they were super nice. Then we went and visited Cathy in the hospital because she has internal bleeding. It was good to see her and lift her spirit a little. Then we got a call from a member we had called earlier in the day and she invited us over for dinner. Before dinner we made some calls and set up 2 appointments for this upcoming week with hopefully new investigators!! Then these 2 guys tried to hit on us but we just gave them Book of Mormons and invited them to church haha. Dinner was good it was at Sister Keils house and Jessie and Brain were there as well. It was funny because she made mashed potatoes and Sister Teeples hates them! She tried to put only a little on her plate but then Sister Keil was like let me show you how it is done and but a ton on her plate haha. She went out of the room for a little bit and I told Sister Teeples to put them on my plate haha she was thankful.

Thursday I finally got to go to the Taylor´s house and meet with Kristin! She is super nice it was worth the wait and the Taylor´s are awesome too. Sister Taylor is a great cook. We watched the Restoration video with Kristin and she liked it a lot and then we asked her to be baptized on the 17th of May (Kayla’s Birthday!) She said she needed to think about it and told us she would give us an answer the next time we meet so next Thursday! I hope it is a yes! After that we visited Cathy again this time with the Leondharts.

Friday we just did weekly planning and then met with Jessie and Brain it was really good. Brian is our ward mission leader but we don´t ever meet with him so it was good to do that. Then after that we got a call from Cathy. She had ran away from the hospital.....so we found her and made her go back...Missionary life haha.

Saturday we had a street display. This time we did the plan of Salvation and Sister Teeples set up an appointment with this guy so maybe a new investigator! Then we met with the Girnus family which was super fun they are funny.

Sunday we went to the Spanish ward which was fun but I wish I could understand haha. Then we ate Easter lunch in the hospital with Cathy then we took her outside in a wheelchair. She appreciated it.

WELL that was my week hope you all had a good one too!

We had a lot of empty time this week but we tried all we could and Heavenly Father blessed us :)

Hehe i know i do get to know all the best secrets haha it is fun :) I am glad over all the cruise was fun for you guys :) I bet the best part was just being together as a family :)  The things you did in LA sounded like fun especially that you got to go to church where you were baptized that is cool! Sorry your trip is over but at least you got to do it :) I am excited to see the pictures next week :)! Ok on to my week...it isn´t very exciting haha

Monday we went to this place called Neckersteinnach and it is this little town where they have 4 castles that you can walk to and go inside all of them except one because someone still lives there. It was SO PRETTY they views from up there are so cool! But I think my favorite was just getting to know Jessie better she is a member in our ward that is from Idaho and she is so AWESOME. We had a lot of fun and it was a beautiful day :) Then Monday night we met with this less active and her 10 year old daughter and the lesson went really well and they said they would come to church which Sister Teeples told me they haven´t been for years!

Sister Teeples and Jessie

Tuesday we had zone training and I also got another interview with President it was funny the first thing he said to me was Sister Wrathall you don´t have a lot of time left do you? Oh President and then he said I was so happy when I found out you were going to Heidelberg haha He is funny. The Zone training was really good I felt like it addressed the needs of everyone in the room. Right after that we had an appointment with this new member named Carmen and she was super nice and we get to meet with her every week so I am excited to get to know her better. Then we met with the Spear family and they are from South Africa and they are bee keepers and love talking about it. I think I will know everything about keeping bees by the time I leave here haha.

Wednesday we went to a Relief Society Brunch which was sweet! I got to meet a lot more members and someone invited their friend, she had no interest but still our ward is doing missionary work, the member had prayed that she could have someone to invite and that would come to the brunch so that in its self is sweet! After the brunch we got to meet with this super cute family where the mom is a member and the husband is Muslim and the kids are neither so hopefully we will be able to teach them they invited us over again in 2 weeks and they were super nice. After them we met with this less active young single adult and she is super cute and nice I really want to have her coming back to Church. I think we meet with her weekly as well.

Thursday was a blank day so we got me anmelded and set transfer goals and we went by on a lot of people but had no luck. We had something at night thank goodness for institute. The lesson was really good it was about the sacrament prayers. He asked if we had ever put it into the singular form and then he did it and it was really cool to see how much more personal it made it. It was also good to meet some more of the YSA one in particular I like a lot! Her name is Vi and she is awesome but actually in a different ward.

Friday we did weekly planning and I got to meet with my first real investigator in Heidelberg, Frau Schill and she is AWESOME but has lame excuses like the church is too far away...she has a car and it would be like 15 mins....the real problem I think is that her family isn´t taking the lessons as well but the daughter was hanging around last time and Sister Teeples being the awesome person she is asked if she would have interest in learning with her mom. She had some concerns at first but we got rid of them right away and next lesson she is going to sit in! Sweet now we are teaching a FAMILY!!!

Saturday we had a street display where Sister Teeples drew the Tree of Life in chalk and wrote the question. Do you know the meaning of the tree? It is the love of God. It went just OK. We talked with a lot of people but didn´t get anyone really solid. She said usually it goes better but there was stuff going on for Easter so all the people were there. After that we literally called like 50 people that at one time had interest in the church. SO MANY CALLS. Out of it though we got a new investigator maybe 2 so it was worth it.

Sunday!!! WOOT my first real Sunday in Heidelberg! It was awesome first our new investigator came to church and second Cathy and her Daughter came!!!  And it was fast in testimony meeting which is my favorite and guess what Cathy bore her testimony and in it she said she hopes her daughter will soon be baptized!! Also Vi was there hehe she came to our ward to see us and then after church Vi and Cathy and her daughter and us all went to the Leonharts house ( The senior missionaries in our ward ) and we had tacos for lunch! It was awesome. The rest of the day we just did study.

We had a lot of empty time this week but we tried all we could and Heavenly Father blessed us :)

LOVE YOU ALL

IT IS BEAUTIFUL here!

Well thank you for all the info on Heildelberg that was cool to read. IT IS BEAUTIFUL here! Oh here is my address
Hauptstrasse 248
69126 Heildelberg
Deutschland
no luck on packages :( They don´t do april fools in Germany that is funny that kayla fell for that, that would be gross!!!   ) Ok on to the WEEK!!!

Monday ( just for you mom ) We hanged out with Bart and Mado for my last p-day in Essen Mado gave us some clothes and then we got ice cream together. Pretty relaxed day but good :) After P-day was over we went to FHE in Dortmund with Xicjun which was good because there was another girl from China there so she could speak with her.

Tuesday we had District meeting and then because it was Elder Lyman´s birthday we made tacos for him which is a big deal in Germany , you have to make everything from scratch. After that we met with the Lichius family for the last time. They were super nice i will miss them.

Wednesday we ate lunch at Sister Neu and that was sad to say good by to her! I will miss her she was like a mom to me. After her we were suppose to met with this less active but she had forgotten about us so we went by on this potential but we got to the building and ended up talking with this man for and hour. He was really nice but was not open or ready at all, we told him that we could recive answers to our prayers and he just said silly girls that will never happen! Oh my that would be sad to believe that :( After that wonderful conversation i went to my last ward night which i could only stay 20 mins. Kristin came in and gave me her favorite braclet and told me it was so i could always remember her and then Xicjun gave me a key chain. It was sad to see all the people i love and know i wouldn´t be seeing them for a long time. So after my 20 mins we have to leave get my luggage and go to 'Dortmund. Because the bus left at 7:45 the next day so i had to sleep in Dortmund but SIster Bauer and Miller were there as well Sister Zenger already got her new comp and went back to Essen.

Saying goodbye to people in Essen

Thursday we woke up early and showered and then sat on a bus for 2 hours or so until we got to Frankfurt. I always love going back to Frankfurt it is cool to see my birth place so often. I also love the actual transfer because i get to see so many people i haven´t seen forever! Like sister Stoker, Sister Miller ( darmstadt), Sister Beck and Fuller. It was really good to hear how they are doing and to see how they feel about going to there new area or getting a new comp. Our train didn´t come forever so we had a long time to talk with people. Once we actually got on our train it was only about 1 and a half hours till i was in my new area HEIDELBERG :) with my new comp SIster Teeples oh speaking of which SIster Teeples is AWESOME! She has red hair and is 19 and is out 3 transfers less than me and is just super nice and funny. SO when we got into Heidelberg i was struck by how BEAUTIFUL it is , it is seriously like a fairy land!!! Then we went to Institute and the members that i met were awesome i think i really will get to know them really well.

Friday so my first morning sport in Heidelberg i ran to a castel no big deal. Then we did weekly planning and did a ton of go bys in the pooring rain with no luck but we did give out 3 Book of Mormons so that was success in our minds.

Saturday we went to this spanish families home to help them move out. Oh by the way there is a spanish ward here that because Sister Teeples studied spanish for 7 years we attend 1 time every month. Sister Teeples is teaching me spanish! So during the move i felt like a golden again because i didn´t understand anything! NO NOT AGAIN!!! But i knew they still liked me because i worked hard haha Sister Teeples told me the little girl called me the incredibal hulk haha. After that we had a young women that was bored so she called us up to see if she could go out with us! Man this ward is awesome!! So first we went by on some potentials with no luck and then we went bahn contacting we talked with a lot of people but no luck. After that we went and watched the womens conference which was super good then after that we watched some Gerneral conference. I love gerneal conference! I thought it was interesting how the first session talked a lot about love guess i need to get better at that.

Sunday was so weird because it started off like a normal day we did study then we did some go bys ( oh the reason we are doing so many go bys is because Sister Wood another missionary had a member in her ward that served here and she had a list of names and addresses of people that once had interest so we are trying to get through the list and hopefully find a new investigator.) But once again no luck but this time at least the person actually lived there, she just had no interest :( After that it was just genreal conference the whole day! I love General Conference it is so cool to hear what they think we are struggeling with and to hear how we can improve. I didn´t get to see the last session yet but i saw all the rest and it was super good i can´t wait till i get the Ensign so i can read through them :)

But ya that was my week i am excited to continue working in Heidelberg with Sister Teeples i hope we stay together for a while i feel like we could get a lot done :) LOVE YOU ALL!!
