WOW that sounds like an exciting
week! Lots of fun stuff which is good because you had a lot of things to
celebrate this week :) That is funny you chose Schnitzel as your dinner. But
don´t blame you it is yummy! Also your cake looks really good :) OH speaking of
yummy stuff I wanted to ask you and everyone in the family what they want me to
bring home from Germany, any requests, does everyone want chocolate or for
Jared does he want a certain gummy candy? Ok anyways good job serving others on
your Birthday! I remember the store house and that is weird how it is set up
now but it sounds like it is better so that is good. That is good that you were
able to do it with Sister Giles and that you work well together, that is always
helpful. OH Provino’s yummy! That place is soo good! That was nice of Stef to
take you out to the Cheesecake factory! I miss American cheesecake so much! The
German cheesecake is not the same. Also sounds like a good anniversary! It
looks pretty where you guys were and nice that dad is no longer a vegetarian he
almost lasted my whole mission. Fried green tomatoes! YUM! The mouse hunt
sounds really fun! All in all sounds like a great week and sounds like the next
one will be good as well. Ok on to my week.
Tuesday we went to Karlsruhe for
district meeting so that was good but also took forever! After we went and met
with Monika and that was really good every now and then she slips into a more depressive
state but I know if she leans on the gospel and savior for help she can always
feel comforted and that is what we are trying to teach her. After meeting with
Monika we met with Damieon, who is now our ward mission leader for the Spanish
branch. He is so good and in love with missionary work! It is great. I really
want to find a Spanish family to help the branch out.
Wednesday we first went to eat out
with Nadine but we got there early so we were waiting for her and I put down my
bag with the Buch Mormon on top and I noticed as people walked by some would
read the cover so I told Sister Miller and then turned the book so it would be
easier for people to read haha. Right after I did that this man walked by and
totally read it, Sister Miller and I burst out laughing! Then he turns back and
talks to us! We end up teaching him about the restoration a little and then
give him the book and invite him to volleyball. Nadine shows up and we have a nice
lunch together. After that we go to the church and Sister Miller does some area
book work and I start writing my mission history. UHHH that is going to take
forever! But it makes me realize why each area and companion was and is
important, guess that is why they make you do it.
Thursday we met with Sister
Breitenhuber which was good she really has the desire to stop smoking so we
told her we could meet twice a week because she says the days we come she
doesn´t smoke. So we will see if that helps. After that we split with the
Darmstadt Sisters. I went with Sister Eschemann to Darmstadt.
Friday was the split day. It was a
fun one. We met up with the Darmstadt Elders at 8 then went to this member’s
house from 9 till almost 3. We picked blackberries in the woods yes we all got
stinging nettle but it was great the member had 3 kids and they were so cute.
The member is less active and I think Sister Eschemann started a good
relationship with her so that was good. The only bad thing is this member lived
in Georgia and she hated it so she railed on GA the whole time :( After that we
met with Nadine which is this member that got baptized right before I got there
so that was fun to see her again she is doing great. Then that night we split
back and no one was on the train, well at least where we were sitting so we had
some fun haha.
Saturday we had a street display
which was good except I got stung by a bee and Elder Henderson told me that it
helps the pain when you spit on the sting so he was like let me spit on you!
Then Sister Miller wanted to lick me but elder Henderson said that would be bad
because then the poison would go into her. They both ended up licking their
finger and rubbing their spit on my sting...yum...I totally could have rubbed
my own spit on me. HAHA oh well. But anyway after the street display is when we
really saw the miracles because we ran into people we saw and talked to on the
bus one day and we ran into the guy that we gave a book of Mormon to and got
his number and he says he will come to volleyball! After that we did weekly
planning only 4 more left!!!!!!
Sunday was interesting. Church was
good we went to the Spanish ward. After we ended up asking for the car from the
Leonhardts to go to Monika the Elders drove us there because we were all going
to a lesson together after that. Monika wasn´t doing so well but I think she
will be better next time. After Monika we jumped in the car to go to this Spanish
member’s house that is out in the middle of nowhere. We all had never been
there before and we are driving a long and then the GPS dies....after an hour
we find it by a miracle!! The lesson goes well but we don´t end up getting out
of the appointment till 9. Then we had to find our way home without a GPS in
the dark. Takes us almost 2 hours! We drive in the woods forever! I really
don´t think we made wrong turns it was just really far away! SO we end up
getting home around 11!!! Good things the Elders had a mini missionary because
if we had to take the train that would have been bad!!!
